'Blues De Ville' is the new album of the Vorih Blues Band,
led by bassist, singer and composer Dubravko Vorih who is also the
author of all texts and music on the album.
The album contains 12 original compositions in English and is dedicated
to 'Zaprudanska blues school' from which Vorih came. Even the front
picture on the album is a homage to the pioneers of blues, and as Vorih
calls them, his first idols. Although this is the first album of the
Vorih Blues Band, D. Vorih had already many musical projects. With the
band 'New Tribe' he released a few albums - "Mr. Clean", "Catwalk" and
last year released the album "Two Faces of Jazz and Soul"; Dubravko
Vorih Quintet also published the CD "Live Sax", and due to that, he is
now a permanent member of Prljavo kazalište (The Dirty Theatre).
With Vorih as bassist and vocalist, Vorih Blues Band consists of Jurica
Leikauff, piano, also a member of The Dirty Theatre, guitarist John
Veljaca, whose musical roots come from the 'delta blues' style that has
the most influence on Vorih Blues Band, as are
Muddy Waters and
Johnny Winter, drummer Mark Rabatic,
who played on the album, replaced in the band by Dražen Scholz, Vorih
longtime friend and associate.
This line-up of Voris Blues Band won the 2nd Croatian Blues Challenge.
