Born in Mallorca (Spain) in 1973 Balta Bordoy is a self-taught guitar
player which he started playing at 15. He founded The Blues
Devils with singer Pep Banyo in 1994 and they recorded a live
cd in 1997, "Pep Baño & The Blues Devils - Live" (Blau/Discmedi CD135).
After different band line ups, The Blues Devils recorded again in 2000
the cd "Nightlife" (Blau/Discmedi CD229) featuring Jay Kaye (St.Louis,
USA) on vocals. They played at many festivals (Terrassa, Cerdanyola,
Cazorla, Roses, Getxo, Reus, San Fernando-Isla Del Blues,...) and clubs
(Bluesville, La Coquette, Beethoven BB, Clamores, La Boite, Black Note,
La Cueva Del Jazz, Akelarre,...), sharing the stage with artists like
Otis Rush Band,
Koko Taylor,
John Hammond,
Corey Harris,
Phillip Walker,
Bernard Allison,
Big Bill Morganfield,
Deborah Coleman,
John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers and many
others.
Ever
since the opening night of March 31st, 1994 you can hear Balta Bordoy's
playing weekly with the House Band at Bluesville Café Bar.
He regularly plays with Wonderbrass, Víctor Uris Boogie Thing,Hugo
Sócrate & Co., Blue Mood, appears as special guest with The Walking
Stick Man Band (BCN), and he is also playing with the great James Harman
(USA) in his last Spanish tours, and with the singer Edward Wade
(Tennesse, USA) as a duo or with a band.
