From
the start in 1980 Blossbluez wanted to play a contemporary
version of the blues; they never tried to deliver a mere copy of the old
originals. In fact, in the eighties BLOSSBLUEZ with their four-piece horn
section sounded a little like the “Blues Brothers”. Then the band split up,
guitarist Martin Aichele moved to Berlin and played with the blues shouter
Eb Davis, bass player Stefan Conradi went on to study classical guitar and
to join the band of Mary Sylvester, singer and harpist Carlo Schultheiss
started to study at university and wrote jazz critiques, trumpeter Freddy
Biechele became singer in a rock band. Early in 2004 nearly all members of
the band got together again and after a unrehearsed recording session they
all felt they had to be reunited as a band and make a new start. Together
with the new members, Klaus Dindorf (who played with
Carey Bell and Steve "Big Man" Clayton),
Tommy Beck (ex-"Bluesquamperfekt") and Alfred Haag (from the "Louisiana
Funky Butts") BLOSSBLUEZ presents an extremely grooving fusion of blues,
funk, soul and jazz offering both new interpreted blues standards and own
compositions. BLOSSBLUEZ follows the good old “democratic” concept of a
band. The idea is quite simple but it works: some guys come together as
equals to play the music they love looking for a common sound that moves
your body and reaches your heart. ..
